As many of you are aware, the ongoing fuel crisis has resulted in both significantly increased fuel costs and, more critically, intermittent fuel availability. These external pressures have now reached a point where adjustments to our daily operations are necessary to ensure the long-term sustainability of the course. At present, we are unable to reliably source diesel through our usual supplier and have had to implement contingency measures, including the manual filling of jerry cans, to keep essential machinery operational.

To manage our limited fuel resources responsibly, we will be strategically reducing mowing frequency across several areas of the property.

While our team remains fully committed to maintaining the highest possible playing standards, these changes will lead to some noticeable differences in course presentation. The rough will be the most affected, with grass lengths increasing between cuts. On closely mown surfaces, priority will be given to maintaining the consistency and quality of the greens, while fairways and tees will be mown less frequently. Plant Growth Regulators (PGRs) have already been applied to help moderate growth between mowing cycles.

We recognise that these adjustments will alter both the visual appearance and playing characteristics of the course. We appreciate your understanding and ongoing support of our grounds team as we work through these industry-wide challenges.
