Thank you to the more than 80 members who attended last night’s Members Information Night. Your engagement and support reflect the shared commitment we all must have in securing a strong and sustainable future for Oxley Golf Club.
During the evening, the Board & Development Committee provided a comprehensive update on the Club’s current position, in relation to the Boundary Road widening project and the critical steps required to protect the long-term viability of the Club. Members were guided through where discussions currently stand regarding potential buyers as we navigate this pivotal moment in the Club’s history. It was acknowledged that purchase prices were not discussed at this time due to legal restrictions with respect to the ongoing negotiation process. Nonetheless, it was emphasized that the anticipated outcome would not only enable the club to rebuild the golf course, clubhouse, and associated amenities, but also deliver a significant surplus to ensure the club’s financial viability for many years.
Importantly, the Board outlined the reasons why change must be considered now, the risks of delaying action, and the opportunities that may arise should a redevelopment proposal proceed. This included an overview of potential project inclusions, anticipated timelines, and the processes ahead for members.
As part of this journey, we wish to formally advise all members that a Special General Meeting will be held on Wednesday, 28th January 2026 at 5.30pm, where full members will be asked to vote on the future direction of Oxley Golf Club. This meeting will be a decisive step in determining how we move forward together. To support transparency and ensure all members feel fully informed, Board Members will be available at the Club every Saturday morning from 10th to 24th January, leading up to the SGM to answer questions regarding the proposed land purchase, redevelopment considerations, and what these decisions may mean for our Club and its membership.
Additionally, members are welcome to visit the Club office to collect a copy of the detailed project brochure. Copies of the brochure will also be available from the Board Members seated outside the Pro Shop on the Saturdays mentioned above. This document outlines the Club’s proposed rebuild for the future, key timelines, project inclusions, and a comprehensive FAQ section addressing membership and the long-term vision for Oxley Golf Club.
