Seasonal Update from the Course Maintenance Team
As the seasons shift and the days grow cooler and shorter, the golf course maintenance team transitions from an active maintenance phase to one focused on preservation.
With turf growth slowing, our priority now is to protect and maintain the quality of our playing surfaces to ensure they emerge from Winter in the best possible condition for Spring. Unfortunately, the recent months haven’t been kind—persistent rainfall and limited sunlight have resulted in more turf loss and thinning than we’d like. In response, we are over-sowing selected tees and fairway areas to encourage recovery, but preserving existing turf remains our top priority. We kindly ask for your support in this effort.
One of the biggest challenges we face right now is soil compaction—primarily caused by golf carts. Compaction weakens turf, increases weed and disease pressure and ultimately diminishes playing quality. To mitigate this, you’ll notice additional ropes and hoops placed throughout the course to help manage both cart and foot traffic. Please take note of these markers, consider their purpose, and help us protect the course for everyone’s benefit.
Driving Range Tee
The driving range tee is currently closed for renovation. We are undertaking over-sowing and leveling work to restore a smooth, high-quality surface. This process will take several weeks and is being carried out to provide members with a better-quality practice surface.
Below is an example of the recommended divot pattern to use while practicing. Adopting this approach will help the turf recover more effectively.
Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation.
