A change of seasons is definitely in the air with a few brisk mornings to start the working days. The greens have responded as such & are slowly going into their dormancy period as a result of night time temperatures going below 12 degrees. We still have a couple of herbicide applications remaining on the greens for the eradication of Blue Couch & Crows foot, so I don’t mind if the Autumn temps stay mild for the next month at least. The greens are in terrific condition as is the entire course so eventually when Winter does arrive there will be no stress on the turf.

The maintenance team has recently completed the brush cutting & edging of all bunkers on course. They have been weeded, blown out of all debris, hand raked, levelled & sprayed with a growth retardant.

All tree bases on course are currently being brush cut & sprayed with herbicide to eradicate all growth surrounding them. This process enhances the overall appearance of the course along with aiding in the speed of play & protecting the tree trunks from being hit by machinery.

All fairways have been fertilised with a granular controlled release prill. This fertiliser is 25% upfront release with the remaining 75% lasting 3 months, taking us well into Winter. They have responded well to this application with substantial growth and colour is evident.
