John Collins Memorial Match Play Championships

Last weekend we hosted three honour board events. On the Saturday we had the John Collins Memorial Matchplay Championships contested over 36 holes and was sponsored by the Morgan family. The winner of C grade was Gordon Wallace who defeated Anthony Wong 3&2. Lachlan Mclean was able to fend off Rohan Gardner for a 4 & 3 win. Our A grade final went down to wire with both players tied coming down the 36th hole. Both overshot the back pin and took relief from the G.U.R having a chip off for the title. Both players pulling off a difficult chip with Alex Hunt missing his putt which left Russell Smith with two foot putt which he sank for victory.
